Welcome Site Supervisors
Dear Colleague:
On behalf of the School of Education and the M.Ed. Counselling Program, we would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for your commitment to our program and students, as demonstrated by your willingness to support them through the most integral component of their program. Being a site supervisor for an M.Ed. Counselling practicum student is a critical role that supports the application of the foundational skills and strategies they have rigorously studied and practiced. Through your leadership and supervision, our students will have the opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners and grow in their confidence and competence in becoming intentional, culturally responsive, and ethical practitioners. Thank you for joining us on this journey to support the development of our future colleagues. We also hope you will find substantial benefits to your practice through your engagement as a site supervisor for our practicum students.
We invite you to review the Practicum Handbook, which offers important information about the practicum requirements and components. Also contained in this handbook are key documents to support the practicum process. All these forms are available in this section in fillable PDFs for ease of completion.
If you have any questions regarding your role as a site supervisor or are interested in joining our incredible community of site supervisors, please contact Kelly Brenton, Clinical Coordinator of the M.Ed. Counselling Program: kelly.brenton@acadiau.ca.
Thank you for your time, support, and dedication to our program and students. We look forward to our continued collaborations and hope this professional experience is rewarding for both you and our students.
Dr. Janet Dyment, Director, Acadia School of Education
