Clinical Mental Health Counselling

This course provides a foundation for working with clients who are living with a mental illness. Students will become familiar with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, and become conversant with evidence-supported and emerging approaches to prevention and intervention. The intent of the course is to establish a critical, conceptual, and procedural framework across the mental health continuum.  Prerequisites: EDUC 5033 and EDUC 5133
